| Obverse description | Central field depicts a stylized early aircraft, the Coanda-1910 aeroplane, shown in three-quarter perspective with wings and fuselage rendered in fine relief against a deeply mirrored proof background. Above the aircraft, the legend ROMANIA is inscribed along the upper facets of the octagonal flan. A rectangular cartouche below the aircraft bears the inscription AVIONUL COANDA-1910. The split date 20 01 flanks a small Romanian coat of arms in the lower central field, with the denomination 50 LEI displayed prominently along the bottom margin. |
