Fantasy or "fantasy" issues occupy an odd corner of the notaphily market — not propaganda, not promotional scrip, not forgery, but a category with no formal issuing authority, no legal tender status, and no monetary function whatsoever. This piece, designed by Dani Crisan and attributed to the fictional "Banca Fantezista a Romaniei," is a collector artifact from the outset, produced purely as a designed object.
Nothing here pretends otherwise, which is either its honesty or its limitation, depending on what you collect and why.
