正面描述	At centre, the denomination in an ornate cartouche surmounted by the date; at top, a golden eagle in flight bearing a dated banner; below, a vignette of the Danube at Drobeta Turnu Severin with the Bridge of Apollodorus. The left field carries an allegorical intaglio vignette of the formation of the Romanian people — a Roman legionnaire and a Dacian woman joining hands, overseen by Emperor Trajan with Roman military trophies and armour in the background — while the right field presents a large white medallion with the denomination in an ornate cartouche above, supported by a golden eagle in flight, and the Romanian coat of arms below with military trophies behind.
