| 正面描述 | The national coat of arms of Malawi occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield supported by a lion to the left and a leopard to the right, with an African fish eagle displayed as the crest above. A rising sun motif appears at the base of the shield, and a scroll bearing the national motto UNITY AND FREEDOM is inscribed beneath the supporters. The legend REPUBLIC OF MALAWI arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by the date 2010 divided on either side of the shield. The fineness mark AG 999/1000 and the denomination 50 KWACHA appear in the lower field. |

| 背面描述 | The reverse depicts the monumental sculpture 'The Motherland Calls' (Rodina-Mat Zovyot), the famous war memorial located in Volgograd (formerly Stalingrad), rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. In the lower portion, three carnation flowers and a St. George's ribbon are depicted as traditional Russian Victory Day symbols, accompanied by the image of the Order of the Patriotic War medal. Cyrillic inscriptions referencing the Patriotic War and Victory Day, together with the years 1941–1945, complete the commemorative design. |

Malawi has issued commemorative silver in volume since the early 2000s, largely through arrangements with European minting houses targeting the collector market rather than domestic circulation. This piece marks the 65th anniversary of the Allied victory — a date Malawi had no direct political stake in, as the country existed in 1945 as the British protectorate of Nyasaland, whose African troops served under colonial command with little recognition at the time.
