Aanvullende informatie

Turkey's postwar silver coinage of this period reflects the country's cautious financial position during the early Cold War years, when Ankara was navigating U.S. aid negotiations that would eventually produce the Truman Doctrine in 1947. The reduced .600 fineness — a step down from earlier Republican issues — was a deliberate monetary policy decision, conserving fine silver at a moment when Turkey's currency reserves were under sustained pressure from wartime neutrality costs.

The two-year window of production was short, and mintage figures across both years were modest by Republican Turkish standards.
