Denmark's 50-kroner note had a complicated production history in this period. The first issue from Danmarks Nationalbank replaced the older Nationalbanken i Kjøbenhavn series as part of a broader institutional rebranding, though the bank's fundamental legal structure had been settled by the 1936 Danmarks Nationalbank Act. The transition between series was gradual, with older notes remaining in circulation alongside newer ones for years.
Watermark authentication was the primary security measure — unexceptional for the period, though Danish notes of this era are generally well-regarded for paper quality. The Pick 16 designation places it as the first formal issue under the Nationalbank name, a distinction that collectors value more than the circulating public ever did.
