Issued by the Allied Military Authority for use in Norway following liberation in May 1945, this note was part of a broader series of Allied Military Currency (AMC) printed to facilitate troop payments and control local monetary conditions during the transition from German occupation. The Norwegian AMC series was prepared in advance of the liberation but saw relatively short circulation before the restored Norges Bank reasserted control and began withdrawing military scrip from use.

Printed in the United States, the series drew political objection from Norwegian authorities who had not been consulted on its production — a friction common across liberated territories where Allied financial planning outpaced diplomatic coordination.
