Obverse description Central field dominated by the Norwegian lion rampant, the heraldic arms of Norway, depicted crowned and holding a battle-axe, rendered in a bold, stylised graphic relief. The legend NORGE arcs vertically along the left side of the field, with the denomination 50 KR inscribed in the lower field flanking the lion's base. To the right, the Kongsberg Mint mark (crossed hammers) and the engraver's initials appear in the lower right field. The design is executed in a clean, modern heraldic style against a deeply mirrored proof field.
