Hungary's post-WWI financial situation was already deteriorating badly by 1920, with inflation accelerating under the strain of Trianon-imposed reparations and the dismemberment of the old Austro-Hungarian monetary system. This 50 Korona was issued by the Hungarian Royal State Treasury — not a central bank, since the Austro-Hungarian Bank's Hungarian operations were being wound down and no independent Hungarian central bank yet existed.
The Magyar Nemzeti Bank wouldn't be established until 1924. By then, the Korona was in freefall, and notes like this one had been rendered nearly worthless long before they wore out.
