Opmerkingen

The Imperial Japanese Government issued occupation currency for use in territories it controlled — this 50 Kopeek note, denominated in Russian and targeting the Manchurian borderlands, was part of a broader series produced for circulation in areas where the ruble remained the familiar unit of account. The Russian-language titling was a deliberate psychological and economic tool, not a concession to the local population.

Pick 20 is notably scarce in circulated grades, largely because the notes saw limited actual use before the Soviet entry into Manchuria in August 1945 effectively ended any practical circulation.
