| 备注 |
The Wäxel-Depositions och Låne-Bank was Finland's first true commercial bank, established in Turku in 1811 under Swedish-language statutes despite Finland having been ceded to Russia the previous year. This note predates the founding of the Bank of Finland by several years in terms of practical commercial reach, and the denomination in kopecks rather than riksdaler or rubles reflects the awkward monetary bilingualism of early Russian Finland, where ruble-based imperial finance and older Swedish monetary conventions coexisted uneasily in daily commerce.
The bank was wiped out when the great Turku fire of 1827 destroyed most of the city, and surviving notes from this institution are genuinely rare as a result.
