| Obverse description | Central field displays the national arms of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, comprising a stylised landscape with paddy fields and a factory, framed by sheaves of rice on either side and surmounted by a five-pointed star above a hammer and sickle emblem. A gear wreath encircles the lower portion of the arms. Below the shield, a two-line Lao-script legend reads the name of the republic, with the commemorative date range 1975–1985 inscribed beneath in Arabic numerals. The entire design is bordered by a raised beaded rim. |
