This is the seventh redesign iteration of the 50 hryvnia since Ukraine gained independence, and the 2024 emission came during active wartime — the National Bank of Ukraine continued issuing updated banknotes throughout the full-scale Russian invasion, a deliberate act of institutional continuity by a central bank operating under martial law conditions.
