Opmerkingen

Strasswalchen is a small market town in Salzburg's Flachgau district, and this 50 Heller note is a product of Austria's postwar Notgeld wave — the municipal emergency currency issued between roughly 1919 and 1922 when chronic coin shortages left local economies effectively paralyzed. Hundreds of Austrian Gemeinden printed their own, and Strasswalchen was no exception. The signatories, Franz Leikermoser and the official recorded only as "Hr. Traugott," were almost certainly local municipal functionaries rather than bank officers.

The Jaksch/Pick reference JPR1047a places this firmly within the documented Salzburg regional issues, though surviving examples from small Flachgau municipalities tend to be scarcer than the heavily collected Tyrolean and Viennese pieces.
