| 背面描述 | The reverse, printed in the same dark red on cream paper, centres a finely engraved oval vignette of the Kremser Tor, the historic medieval gate of St. Pölten demolished in 1855 for the construction of the Elisabeth-Westbahn railway line, with figures in period dress in the foreground. Decorative ornamental band borders run above and below the vignette, and flanking Fraktur inscriptions carry a period lament about monetary hardship. The lower section bears a personal dedication crediting the image to the parents of the issuer, Franz and Caroline Pittner, proprietors of the Hotel 'zum roten Krebsen', with the printer's imprint 'Sommer, St. Pölten' at the lower right. |
