The Landesverband der Kriegsbeschädigten — the provincial association for war-disabled veterans, widows, and orphans — was one of countless welfare organizations in post-WWI Austria that turned to notgeld when the central currency collapsed into near-worthlessness. This 50 Heller piece from the Rohrbach district office is a genuine welfare instrument, not a collector series: it was intended to facilitate local transactions among people who had almost nothing left after the war stripped them of their primary earner.
Jos. Feichtingers Erben was a well-established Linz printing house that handled a substantial volume of Upper Austrian notgeld during 1920–1921.
