Obverse description The obverse is printed in dark brown on plain paper with a decorative border of interlaced foliate ornament. The denomination numeral '50' appears in ornate panels at upper left and upper right. In the central upper register, the title 'Kassenschein der Marktgemeinde Obernberg a. Inn' is set in Gothic blackletter script. Below, a block of text in Gothic script states the municipality's obligation to redeem the note in lawful currency, accompanied at lower left by a vignette of the town's heraldic beast — a squirrel passant — within a shield. The Bürgermeister's facsimile signature appears at the foot of the text.
