| Obverse lettering | 50 HELLER GEMEINDE NUSSDORF A.A SALZKAMMERGUT-DRUCKEREI GMUNDEN |
| Reverse description | Printed in two colors — teal-green and dark reddish-brown — on cream paper, the reverse centres on a large floral wreath guilloche enclosing a ghost numeral '50' printed in teal. Within and above the wreath, bold reddish-brown text states the issuing authority 'GEMEINDE NUSSDORF AM ATTERSEE' and the denomination inscription 'GUTSCHEIN ÜBER FÜNFZIG HELLER'. Below, a text block records the redemption conditions, the issuance date of 1 August 1920, and the signature of the Bürgermeister Anton Wiesinger. Large numerals '50' appear in teal at the upper left and right corners. |

One of thousands of Austrian municipal emergency notes — Notgeld — issued when postwar coin shortages made small transactions nearly impossible. Nussdorf am Attersee is a tiny lakeside village in Upper Austria; that a community this small ran its own printing contract through the Salzkammergut-Druckerei in Gmunden speaks to how thoroughly the coin shortage had penetrated even rural economies by 1920.
The Salzkammergut-Druckerei handled a substantial share of local Notgeld production for the surrounding lake district, which accounts for the consistent if modest print quality across many of these small-denomination issues. Anton Wiesinger's signature as authorizing official is the sole accountability mechanism on the note.
