| 正面描述 | Printed in purple-brown on cream paper, the obverse centres on a detailed intaglio vignette of a medieval castle with multiple towers set against a clouded sky. To the left of the vignette is the heraldic shield of Lower Austria, while the large numeral '50' appears at upper left within an octagonal guilloche cartouche and again in bold open numerals at the right. A decorative scrollwork border frames the entire composition, and a ribbon banner at the foot carries the issuer inscription in Gothic script. |

| 备注 |
Austrian Notgeld of this period fills an entire subfield of its own, and Lower Austria was among the most prolific issuers. After the collapse of the Habsburg monetary system in 1918, the new Austrian republic faced a severe small-coin shortage — metal had been systematically stripped for wartime use — and provincial and municipal authorities were left to fill the gap themselves. Lower Austria's series was printed by the press of the Lower Austrian provincial railways, an in-house operation that served the Landesbahnen administration rather than a commercial printer.
The Druckerei n.-ö. Landesbahnen imprint is relatively uncommon among the hundreds of Notgeld printers active in this period.
