| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in brown and blue on cream paper, with an ornate letterpress border of stylised Art Nouveau foliage and vertical hatching along the lateral margins. The upper portion carries a shaped cartouche with the issuer inscription in Gothic blackletter script, with the denomination numeral '50' repeated in small panels at upper left and right. Below the cartouche, a large blue panoramic vignette presents a townscape with a prominent church steeple set against a mountain range. Below the image, the designer and printer credits appear in small italic type. |

| Reverse description | The reverse is printed entirely in brown on plain cream paper and relies on typeset letterpress throughout. A vertical panel along the left edge carries the words 'Fünfzig 50 Heller' rotated 90 degrees, framed by two double rules. The right portion bears the heading 'Gutschein der Gemeinde Neuhofen a. Ybbs.' in Gothic display type, followed by a block of German text recording the municipal council resolution of 15 April 1920 authorising the issue and guaranteeing redemption by 30 December 1920. Four municipal officials' names and titles are listed below the text, and a counterfeiting warning closes the note at the foot. |
