Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse is dominated by a panoramic line-engraved vignette of the town of Mistelbach, with church spires and rooftops visible against an open sky, framed by ornamental grapevine borders. The numeral '50' appears in circular cartouches at the upper left and upper right corners. Below the central vignette, the municipal coat of arms — a crowned shield with a plant motif — is flanked by two text panels recording historical facts about the town, printed in a small Gothic typeface.

Opmerkingen

Mistelbach, a small market town in Lower Austria, issued Notgeld during the acute coin shortage that gripped Austria following the First World War. Municipal and local authorities across the region printed their own small-denomination notes because the central government simply could not supply enough coinage to keep everyday commerce moving — a problem that hit rural and semi-rural communities especially hard.

The JPR prefix in the Jaksch reference system identifies this as part of the broader Austrian local emergency money corpus. At 50 Heller, this sits at the most common transactional denomination for Austrian Notgeld — change for bread, tram fares, market purchases.
