Marsbach is a small market commune in Upper Austria's Mühlviertel district, and its 50 Heller Notgeld issue belongs to the dense wave of Austrian municipal emergency money produced in the immediate postwar period, when the collapse of the Habsburg monetary system left local authorities scrambling to cover small-denomination shortages.
