Opmerkingen

Maria-Enzersdorf is a small municipality south of Vienna, and this 50 Heller note belongs to the vast wave of Austrian Notgeld issued between 1919 and 1921 when chronic coin shortages left local governments scrambling to produce their own small change. Fritz Karl Mundt designed numerous Notgeld issues for Lower Austrian communities during this period — his work is consistent enough to be recognizable across several series.

The JPR0582b designation indicates a variant within the Maria-Enzersdorf issue, worth distinguishing from the 'a' type when cataloging. Four municipal officials signed the authorization, which was typical for Gemeinde-issued Notgeld requiring multiple signatories to establish local legal standing.
