To the right, the denomination numeral '50' appears at upper right within a ruled panel, below which the value inscription 'Fünfzig Heller' is set in Gothic blackletter script, followed by 'Gutschein der Marktgemeinde Mank' in the same typeface. Mank is a small market town in Lower Austria, and like hundreds of similarly sized municipalities, it issued its own notgeld during the severe coin shortage that followed the First World War. The Austrian notgeld phenomenon of 1919–1921 was extraordinarily localized — towns, villages, even individual estates printed their own emergency fractional notes, resulting in thousands of distinct issues that circulated within absurdly small geographic areas.
The JPR0576b suffix indicates a variant within the Mank series, suggesting at least minor typographic or printing differences from the primary issue — worth checking against the full Jaksc census if attribution matters for your collection.
