Obverse description The obverse is printed in green on a cream paper ground and centred on a vignette of the St. Laurentius Church at Lorch, framed within a pointed Gothic arch supported by ornate pillars. Denomination numerals '50' appear in octagonal cartouches at left and right, each surmounted by decorative scroll-work and floral ornaments, with the word 'Heller' lettered below each cartouche. A band of repeating stylised exclamation-mark and dot ornament runs across the upper border, and the inscription 'ST. LAURENTIUSKIRCHE ZU LORCH' is set along the lower margin.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in green on cream paper and takes the form of an unfurled scroll vignette, its upper and lower edges rendered as rolled parchment. The body of the scroll carries the full redemption text in a Gothic blackletter typeface, dated 'Lorch, am 15. Mai 1920', and concludes with the title 'Der Bürgermeister:' followed by a manuscript facsimile signature. A small printer's imprint appears at the lower right beneath the scroll.
