Lamprechtshausen is a small market commune in Salzburg province, and like hundreds of Austrian municipalities during the First World War and its immediate aftermath, it was forced to produce its own emergency small-change notes when coins effectively vanished from circulation. The federal government's metal requisitions and wartime hoarding stripped ordinary commerce of its working currency, leaving local authorities to fill the gap with hand-signed paper scrip. Mühlbacher and Feichtlbaum signed as municipal officials — their names anchoring the note's local legal standing rather than any banking authority.
Thalmayr's print shop in Oberndorf produced issues for several Salzburg communes during this period, which sometimes makes attribution tricky when notes lack clear municipal text.
