Kremsmünster is a small market town in Upper Austria best known for its Benedictine abbey, and like hundreds of other Austrian municipalities, it issued its own Notgeld during the severe coin shortage that followed the First World War. These locally-printed emergency issues were a practical stop-gap, not a monetary experiment — small denominations in coins had effectively vanished from daily commerce by 1919–1920.
The "Printed: 30.04.1945" field almost certainly reflects a later cataloguing or database entry error; that date was the final day of Hitler's life and well outside any plausible Notgeld printing window for this series.
