| Obverse description | The left half of the obverse is occupied by a circular vignette bearing the town arms of Kirchdorf an der Krems — a quartered shield with diagonal red-and-white stripes and stylised town towers, surmounted by the initial 'K', the whole enclosed within a wreath of oak leaves and acorns. To the right, Gothic blackletter text reads 'Gutschein über' above the large red numeral '50', followed by 'Heller' and the curved legend 'Marktgemeinde Kirchdorf' running along the right margin. The border is formed by a repeating geometric frame with the denomination '50' repeated at each corner, printed in violet on a buff ground. |

| Reverse description | The central vignette, framed by a decorative chain border, presents a finely drawn street scene of Kirchdorf an der Krems, with a narrow cobbled lane leading toward a baroque church tower rising above surrounding buildings and trees, executed in brown letterpress. The denomination '50 Heller' appears in red at both the left and right panels flanking the central vignette. Below the left panel the validity legend 'Gültig bis 31. März 1921' is printed in Gothic script, while 'Nachahmung strafbar' (counterfeiting punishable) appears at lower right. |

Austrian Notgeld issued by municipalities like Kirchdorf an der Krems filled the acute small-change vacuum that gripped the country after 1918 — the collapse of the Habsburg monetary system left towns with no practical means of making change, and local councils became de facto issuing authorities by necessity. Three signatures from the Marktgemeinde's Bürgermeister and both deputies gave these notes a veneer of civic legitimacy, though their legal standing was always informal. Redemption was expected but not always guaranteed.
