Opmerkingen

Hundsberg is a small village in the Salzburg-border district of Upper Austria, and like hundreds of similar communities it issued Notgeld during the acute coin shortage that followed the First World War. These municipal emergency notes — printed locally, redeemable only within the issuing community — were never intended for long-distance circulation and most were quickly exchanged back and destroyed once the crisis eased, which is precisely why village-level pieces at this scale survive in such low numbers.

The single signature, Adolf Breitschopf, almost certainly represents the Bürgermeister or a designated municipal treasurer at the time of issue.
