Goldwörth is a small village in Upper Austria, and this 50 Heller note is a piece of Austrian Notgeld — emergency municipal scrip issued during the economic chaos that followed the First World War. Hundreds of Austrian communes printed their own small-denomination notes between 1919 and 1922 when coin disappeared from circulation almost entirely.
