Obverse description Brown and grey notgeld printed in a two-colour letterpress style. A central oval vignette presents an aerial panoramic view of the village of Ertl, with a church steeple rising above clustered buildings and surrounding agricultural fields. The denomination '50 Heller' appears in circular cartouches at upper left and right, flanked by Art Nouveau foliate border ornaments, with the legend 'Notgeld von Ertl' inscribed in a panel at the foot of the note.

Reverse description Printed in teal-green on cream paper with a dotted rectangular border frame. The left panel carries the denomination in large gothic script reading 'Fünfzig 50 Heller', while the right panel contains the full issuing authority text and a validity clause in German blackletter type, valid until 30 December 1920. A faint underprint watermark-style design is visible in the background, and the signatures of the two association officers appear at the foot with their respective titles.
