Eferding's 50 Heller notgeld was produced by "Puka," an advertising firm in Linz — a reminder that much of the Austrian municipal emergency currency of this period was farmed out to commercial printers with no specialized banknote experience, simply because demand was overwhelming and the postal infrastructure for coin distribution had collapsed. The result was wildly uneven print quality across the notgeld series, and Puka's output is no exception to that pattern.
Designer L. Haase is otherwise obscure within the notgeld literature.
