Bruck im Pinzgau is a small Alpine commune in Salzburg province, and this 50 Heller note is a product of Austria's Notgeld wave — the municipal emergency currency that proliferated across the former Habsburg lands after 1918 when the new Austrian Republic faced catastrophic coin shortages.
