| Opmerkingen |
Aschach an der Donau, on the south bank of the Danube in Upper Austria, held Allied prisoners — predominantly Russian and Italian — during the war years, and like most K.u.k. camp administrations it issued its own internal scrip to prevent prisoners from accumulating currency usable outside the wire. These Lagergeld issues circulated only within the camp economy: canteen purchases, small trades, nothing more.
Haas & Comp. in Steyr handled a number of such commissions for nearby camps, making them a minor but documentable node in the administrative machinery of Habsburg prisoner management. The 50 Heller denomination suggests a functioning internal price structure rather than purely token use.
