| Obverse description | Printed in red and dark blue on plain paper, the obverse carries the title inscription KASSEN-SCHEIN at the top within a decorative letterpress border of stylized foliate motifs in the Jugendstil manner. Two circular vignettes flank the central text: at left, a finely drawn ink illustration of Artstetten Castle with its distinctive onion-domed towers set against a hillside landscape; at right, an interior architectural vignette of an ornate baroque portal or tomb, signed by the artist Seliger. The denomination 50 HELLER appears in large bold type at centre, with the validity inscription NUR GILTIG BIS 31. DEZEMBER 1920 running along the lower margin. |

The denomination FÜNFZIG 50 HELLER is set in a bold display panel at the top, with the numeral 50 enclosed in an octagonal cartouche. Below, the guarantee text states that the Marktgemeinde Artstetten is liable for this obligation with its entire assets, followed by two facsimile manuscript signatures of the Vizebürgermeister and the Bürgermeister. The legend NACHAHMUNG VERBOTEN (counterfeiting prohibited) appears at the foot. |
