正面描述 Printed in green on buff paper, the obverse is framed by a decorative border of stylised vine and thorn motifs running along all four edges. The issuer name GEMEINDE AIGEN appears at the top in bold letterpress, above a large central vignette containing the denomination numeral '50' within an ornate circular surround, with the word 'Heller' rendered in elaborate Gothic script below. A multi-line redemption text, the signatures of the Bürgermeister and municipal councillors, and the printer's imprint 'Druck E.W. Müller Salzburg' occupy the lower portion of the note.

备注

One of hundreds of Austrian municipal Notgeld issues printed in the wake of the First World War, when coin shortages forced local governments to produce their own small-denomination emergency currency. Aigen — at the time a separate municipality on the southern edge of Salzburg — contracted Druckerei E.W. Müller, a local Salzburg printer, for the job. The result is entirely regional in character, produced for a community that would be absorbed into the city of Salzburg proper in 1935.

The JPR0013a designation places this among the earlier documented varieties for the issue. Heller-denomination Notgeld of this period typically circulated only within the issuing community and was redeemable for a limited window — many Austrian municipalities cancelled redemption by 1921.
