备注

Sankt Georgen im Attergau is a small market town on the western shore of the Attersee in Upper Austria. This 50 Heller note is one of the Austrian Notgeld issues — emergency municipal currency printed by towns and villages across the former Habsburg territories between roughly 1918 and 1921, when the collapse of the empire left the new Austrian republic without adequate small-denomination coinage in circulation. Individual Marktgemeinden were legally permitted to issue their own provisional paper money to fill that gap.

The Jaksc catalogue (complementing the Pick system for Austrian local issues) assigns this a specific reference, suggesting it was formally documented rather than surviving only as a rarity — though survival rates for rural Notgeld vary considerably by issuing authority.
