Obverse description A two-colour letterpress vignette in violet-brown occupies the upper portion of the note, rendered in a flat expressionist woodcut style: a cloaked figure stands beside a wayside shrine or roadside cross at centre, with snow-covered farmhouses and bare trees receding into a dark background. Below the vignette, a divided text panel carries the denomination numeral '50' at left and right, flanking a central inscription in bold Art Nouveau lettering, all contained within a serrated decorative border.

Reverse description The reverse is entirely typeset in black on plain paper within a double serrated rectangular border. The central text block sets out the redemption terms and an anti-counterfeiting warning, followed by the authorising signature of the village headman (Ortsvorsteher) Johann Wagner. Edition and issue annotations appear at the lower left and lower right margins outside the inner border.
