| Obverse description | A large panoramic woodcut-style vignette occupies the lower two-thirds of the note, reproducing a historical bird's-eye view of the city of Salzburg circa 1700, with the Hohensalzburg fortress on its rocky outcrop and the surrounding alpine landscape rendered in dark blue-grey. At upper centre, a red banner cartouche carries the title inscription, flanked left and right by the denomination numerals '50' in bold blackletter; four red heraldic shields — the arms of Salzburg — are placed at the inner corners of the border, with dates and archbishops' names annotated in red beside them. |
