Obverse description The obverse displays the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic state emblem — a rampant double-tailed lion passant, rendered in bold relief within a Gothic shield surmounted by a five-pointed star. The shield is centrally positioned in the field, with the date 1977 inscribed in large numerals along the lower arc. The circular legend ČESKOSLOVENSKÁ SOCIALISTICKÁ REPUBLIKA runs along the periphery, divided on either side of the shield, in upright Latin lettering.
