Obverse description The quartered state shield of the Czech and Slovak Federative Republic (ČSFR) occupies the centre of the obverse, featuring the Bohemian lion, the Slovak double cross on a triple mount, and the Silesian eagle in the four quadrants. Two stylised linden sprigs flank the shield on either side in the field. The inscription 'ČSFR' arcs across the upper legend, while the date and engraver's initial 'R' appear in the lower exergue beneath the shield.
