| 表面の説明 | The obverse features an abstract, stylized design in which the right half of the field is occupied by a large, finely engraved curved motif composed of sweeping parallel lines, evoking a partial profile or sculptural form. To the left, the inscriptions are arranged vertically in the field: the date '1966' at top, followed by the names 'Beatrix' and 'Claus' in a larger serif typeface, then the date '1991' below. The Utrecht Mint privy mark (a caduceus) appears beneath the names, and the denomination '50g' is rendered in bold numerals at the bottom of the field. The mint master's mark (a diamond) is positioned near the upper left. |

Issued to mark the 1966 marriage of Crown Princess Beatrix to Claus von Amsberg, a former German diplomat and Wehrmacht conscript whose Dutch citizenship was contested well into the 1980s. The union provoked street riots in Amsterdam on the wedding day itself — smoke bombs were thrown at the procession. That a commemorative struck a quarter-century later still needed to navigate that fraught history says something about how slowly Dutch public opinion on Claus moved.
