Description de l’avers	The note is printed in blue-grey on cream paper in the American bank note style. At upper centre, a vignette of a steam locomotive with passenger carriages at a station forms the dominant pictorial element; flanking it are two circular medallions bearing the denomination FÜNFZIG. To the left, a pastoral vignette with a tree and river scene occupies a rectangular panel, above which a rooster and a dog appear alongside a beehive symbolising industry, with a sheaf of wheat and agricultural implements to the right. The central text panel carries the issuing bank's name and the bearer promise in German blackletter script, with the printer's imprint of Draper, Toppan, Longacre & Co. of Philadelphia and New York at the top margin.
