Obverse description Vertical border ornaments frame the left and right margins, with intricate guilloche work and the denomination numeral in the upper central field. The lower centre bears a blind-embossed stamp with the coat of arms of the Austrian Empire. The note is printed in letterpress with a restrained typographic layout characteristic of early nineteenth-century Austrian state paper money.

Reverse description The reverse shows the note as seen through the paper, with the obverse text and ornamental design visible in mirror image as a show-through from the printed face. Elaborate foliate corner cartouches with the numeral 50 appear at the left and right, flanking a central guilloche medallion at the top. Multiple lines of German text in Gothic blackletter script occupy the central field, with a serial number at the lower left.
Reverse lettering Fünfzig Gulden
