| 正面描述 | The uncrowned Polish state eagle of the People's Republic, displayed with wings spread and talons outstretched, occupies the central field, rendered in a bold, stylized Socialist-era design engraved by Wojciech Jastrzębowski. The eagle's head faces to the right, and its breast feathers are rendered in fine detail against a smooth field. The circular legend POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA arcs around the upper and lateral periphery, with the date 1958 inscribed in the lower field flanked by two raised dots. |

In 1958, Polish monetary authorities were actively testing alternative compositions and planchet specifications ahead of a broader coinage revision. This piece is a trial strike — produced not for circulation but to evaluate how the design would transfer onto a nickel planchet under production conditions. The "Ribbon" designation distinguishes it from parallel trials of the same denomination struck without the ribbon detail, suggesting the mint was simultaneously auditioning both design variants before committing to a final type.
Survivors exist almost exclusively in institutional collections or through dispersals of the Narodowy Bank Polski's technical archives.
