| Opis rewersu | Bold denomination 50 GROSZY occupies the central field, set within a large rectangular frame with a cross-shaped internal division creating a distinctive geometric cartouche. Below the denomination, two miners' hammers are crossed in saltire with a single wheat ear centred between them, symbolising labour and agriculture. The word PRÓBA (trial/pattern) appears to the left of the cartouche, indicating the coin's status as a trial strike. The engraver's initials W K appear in small characters beneath the central motif. The design was executed by Wacław Kowalik. |

In 1958, Polish monetary authorities were actively testing alloy compositions for the redesigned groszy series, with brass trialled against aluminium and aluminium-bronze before final production decisions were made. This particular CuZn strike never advanced to circulation — the issued 50 groszy of this type ultimately appeared in aluminium. Trial pieces from this deliberation survive in tiny quantities, almost exclusively in institutional or specialist collections.
