Reverse description The Haitian Coat of Arms occupies the central field, depicting a palm tree flanked symmetrically by trophy arrangements of cannons, cannonballs, flags, and other military implements resting on a green ground. A ribbon scroll at the base bears the motto L'UNION FAIT LA FORCE. The national arms are rendered in fine relief against a mirror-polished proof field. The legend LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 50 GOURDES and the date 1977 appear in two lines in the lower field. A beaded border frames the entire design.
