| Obverse description | The central vignette presents a scenic tropical landscape framed by two large African elephants at lower left and right, with a tall palm tree at left and a massive baobab tree at right, all rendered in blue intaglio engraving. A hexagonal blank panel occupies the lower centre, flanked by signature lines for Le Président and L'Administrateur-Directeur, with the place name PORTO-NOVO and date below the bank title. Denomination numerals 50 appear in each corner within ornate guilloche cartouches, and the engravers' names h.Bellery Desfontaines del. and ERNEST ET FRÉDÉRIC FLORIAN SC. are inscribed in the lower margins. |
