Reverse description The royal coat of arms of Burundi occupies the central field, featuring a shield bearing a lion's head passant, surmounted by a traditional African drum and flanked by two crossed spears on each side. A scroll beneath the shield bears the royal motto GANZA SABWA. The mint mark ARGOR 900/1000 appears in small lettering below the coat of arms. The legend ROYAUME DU BURUNDI curves along the upper periphery, and the denomination 50 FRANCS is inscribed along the lower periphery, all within a beaded border.
