| 表面の説明 | Central group depicting Hercules standing facing, bearded and semi-draped, flanked by two allegorical female figures representing Liberty and Equality, each extending a hand toward him in a scene of civic unity after the celebrated Dupré composition. The figures are rendered in high relief on a plain field, resting on a flat baseline. The engraver's signature 'Dupré' appears in the lower field beneath the group. The peripheral legend 'LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ' arcs along the upper rim, and the Paris mint mark 'A' is visible to the lower right. |

The "hybride" designation here is the entire story. In 1974, the Monnaie de Paris struck a small number of pieces pairing the obverse die from the standard Hercule 50-franc series with a reverse die from a different preparation — an error of assembly that was documented rather than destroyed. GEM 223.5 distinguishes it from the regular issue precisely on this basis. Reported mintage figures for confirmed hybrids are extremely low, and many examples in commerce have been misattributed as standard strikes by sellers unaware of the die pairing difference.
